Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden

The last stop on our New York Beer & Brewery Tour brought us to Queens to enjoy the nice day at the Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden. Pitchers went around and we tried a couple of beers. The outdoor area has a couple bars, several tables, and a food counter.

Last Stop

The samples didn’t last very long before we decided to purchase a couple mugs of beer. We went with the Hofbrau Original and a seasonal ale. Cheers!

We definitely wanted some food. So we headed over to the counter and ordered something from the grill menu. The menu varies and we decided to get the Grilled Country Kielbasa with a choice of fries or sauerkraut.

Munchies

The kielbasa was juicy and had a nice char on it. It was good alone or sliced on top some bread with mustard. It’s a classic meal to get with the various beers offered.

We had a choice to stay at Bohemian or get dropped back off at our starting point at Eataly. We decided to head back and walk around a bit. Madison Square Park Eats brings popular NYC food vendors together in the heard of the Flatiron District. A nice pop-up market to grab a couple bites to eat.

The Mighty Balls looked mighty good. The main attraction is organic meatballs with your choice of a gourmet sauce and cheeses. We tried some beef meatballs with Mighty Hot Jalapeno Jelly topped with mozzarella. The meatballs were good and the jalapeno sauce was sweet and spicy.

We decided to have a few more drinks at McSorley’s. It’s the oldest “Irish” tavern in NYC dating back to 1854. It’s small, old-fashioned, and there’s saw dust all over the floor. You’ll only find beer here, only two kinds – light and dark.

Light or Dark?

The mugs swoop in and out of sight in a flash thanks to the seasoned waiters that have been there forever. The beers are pretty light, even the dark, and provide some easy drinking. It’s a fun spot to hang out and enjoy a “few” mugs. Yea, just a few…
