Nobu (Caesars Palace)

For my last night in Vegas, I decided to treat myself to dinner at Nobu located in Caesars Palace. I was tempted to try some other places, but I’m a fan of Chef Nobu and this was conveniently located right across the street from the hotel. Not to mention, I already left the strip for lunch earlier, so I decided to stay nearby for dinner.

Dinner at Nobu

I gave my name and followed the hostess to a small table towards the back facing the sushi bar.

Entrance

Tables were full and the sushi bar seemed fully occupied. It was dimly lit, but lively. The ambiance was great.

Place Setting

My waiter was very nice and briefly went over some dining options with me. I already knew I was going to try their famous black cod and looked forward to some sushi. I opted not to try their omakase tonight.

Menu

I ordered a refreshing sake-based cocktail.

Sake Cocktail

I had to try the black cod miso I’ve heard so much about. That was the one and only appetizer I ordered, and honestly wasn’t very impressed by it.

Black Cod Miso

I was expecting it to be much more tender. It was slightly dry and served luke warm. It almost seemed like it was reheated in a microwave. Bummer.

My sushi was coming out soon and I switched to a glass of white wine to enjoy with it.

Switch to Wine

I ordered the Chef’s Selection of nigiri as my entree.

Premium Sushi

The sushi was okay. Nothing really stood out. It was sort of bland. It paled in comparison to the amazing sushi I had a couple nights before.

The best part of the sushi platter was probably the nigitoro roll.

Negitoro Roll

I managed to finish most of the sushi. I don’t think I’ve ever left a piece of sushi uneaten ever.

Toro

For dessert, a nice plate was brought out with a spoonful of yuzu sorbet.

Thanks!

The sorbet was nice and refreshing. Unfortunately, this was the best part of the meal.

Yuzu Sorbet

I wanted to like NOBU, I really did. I was looking forward to my dinner here for my last night in Las Vegas. The ambiance was nice, the service was great, but the food was nothing special, especially for the prices. I would not mind coming back to try other dishes that looked and sounded good, but only if I was really in the mood to give it another shot.
