Kayak Excursion with Two Sea Tour

We were up early the next morning for our kayak excursion with Two Sea Tour! Now there are lots of excursions down in Phuket, but what made Two Sea Tour different is that they’re out earlier than everybody else. That means we didn’t have to deal with large crowds of tourists. In fact, it was only us at a few stops!

Nice and Early

We were picked up from our hotel at the time we were given. We then made our way to Ao Po Pier where we met the captain and crew. The boat was very large and can hold up to 55 people, but they only allow a maximum of 16 people on the tour. It was great! They truly care about the safety and comfort of their guests.

Beautiful Morning

After Captain Philippe went over the safety protocols and explained the itinerary, we were off to our first stop! They offered coffee, tea, and snacks for breakfast. They also gave each couple a nice waterproof bag to put your camera and other belongings in. It was a very useful gift for the rest of our trip!

You’re free to walk around as you please and the front of the boat offered some great views and photo opportunities.

So Nice

We reached our first stop, Panak Island. The boat docks and each guide comes right up to the back of the boat with their kayak to pick each couple up. The guides were extremely nice. You don’t have to worry about paddling and they do a great job explaining everything.

Great Guides

Our guide, Jack, was great! He was so sweet and always offered to take photos.

We got out of our kayaks and made our way through the caves. Each person was supplied with a flashlight and the guides carefully guided us through.

Caves

It was very low tide this time of the year. We were able to walk into the internal lagoon and gaze at the beautiful scenery of large Mangroves.

Inside the Mangrove

We spotted lots of little crabs. These crabs are known as Fiddler Crabs. They have one large claw used to fight other males and impress the female crabs. Size does matter!

It was so nice and peaceful. We actually had the place to ourselves for a while.

Other tour groups started making their way in, so it was time to head back out through the cave and go to our next stop. Staying one step ahead of the other tours!

Our next stop was Hong Island and kayaking around the amazing scenery.

Breathtaking

Our third stop was the famous James Bond Island. Instead of taking the kayaks, we all hopped into a long tail boat! The motor on the back has a long shaft with the propeller on the end that’s used for steering the boat, hence the name long tail.

This particular island became famous from the 1974 James Bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun, starring Roger Moore.

We made our way up the hill where you’ll find the perfect view of the iconic limestone rock known as Koh Tapu. Oh and you can even reenact a scene from the movie and pose with a golden gun. Sure it’s super touristy, but who cares!

The area where we got off the boat was Ping Gan Island, where we saw the giant leaning rock.

After walking around for a bit, it was time to get back into the long tail boat and head back to our boat. The crew prepared our lunch and it was waiting for us when we returned.

Delicious Lunch

We met the cook, who cooked some of the best food we had during our trip! Seriously, the food was delicious! She even prepared a couple vegan dishes for my sister. My sister loved them.

Everything was very flavorful and fresh. It was like a Thai mom did all this wonderful home cooking for her guests. It was awesome! There was a generous amount of seafood and the curries were amazing.
