Bar Hopping: Rainey Street

Austin has a wide array of bars, but if you want a truly unique bar hopping experience (or just need a break from “Dirty Sixth”), head to Rainey Street! This particular street is lined with actual houses that have been converted into bars. How cool is that? Sure, there are plenty of tourists around and new apartment complexes are popping up in the area, but it’s still very much worth checking out!

Rainey Street Shenanigans

I went with my former coworker and her friend. We parked at the small lot located along Driskill Street. We started at the beginning of Rainey Street and just worked our way down.

If you want to satisfy those late night drunken munchies, you can head to the small food truck park towards the end of the street. How convenient!

We were able to check out a few bars and enjoy some late-night grub. So little time, so many bars. You’ll find plenty of people around Friday and Saturday nights and most bars have live music or a DJ. Good times!
