Brewery Hopping: Burlington

After Breakfast, I was ready to check out some breweries. Vermont ranks towards the top of craft beer breweries per capita in the United States and Burlington has a solid selection to satisfy all types of beer lovers.

I took an Uber to the Magic Hat Brewing Company in South Burlington.

First Stop

It was different from other breweries I’ve been to thanks to the vibrant and funky decor.

I stood at a spot at the bar and ordered away. I started out with their Big Hundo IPA.

They do not offer flights, but there are smaller sized tastings available. I tried the Elder Betty and Art Hop Ale.

They offer free guided and self-guided tours as well. I just joined on the spot.

After Magic Hat, I took another Uber to Switchback Brewing Company. From here, I was able to walk to the next two breweries.

While walking to the third brewery, I spotted the most random thing ever – the World’s Tallest Filing Cabinet! It’s on Flynn Ave.

My third stop was Zero Gravity on Pine Street. I already tried a couple of their beers at the Brewpub inside American Flatbread, but wanted to see what else they were offering.

My fourth and final stop was just across the street. The Queen City Brewery is a family-run brewery located in a renovated warehouse.

They offer growlers (64oz) and bumpers (32oz). I bought a bumper of Monk of Underhill because I really enjoyed it and I could bring it along for my sunset sail later.

Bumper To-Go

I had a great time exploring a few of Burlington’s craft breweries. I made my way back to my hotel to get ready for a sail on Lake Champlain.
