This Burlington weekend flew by! It was my final day in Vermont, so I went out for lunch, some souvenir shopping, and a local treat.

I stopped by Leunig’s Bistro in Church Street Marketplace. The French bistro features seasonal menus and serves classic French dishes with local ingredients. It is one of the oldest, continually operating restaurants in downtown Burlington.

The sandwiches sounded really good. A lemonade and a sandwich, that’ll do just fine.

I ordered the Turkey & Butter sandwich served with mixed greens. It seemed pretty ordinary, but it was simply delicious.

The tasty sandwich was made with all-natural turkey, baby arugula, chimichurri aioli, and a generous spread of agave and avocado compound butter on toasted telera bread.

After lunch, I walked around Church Street Marketplace for a bit and bought a couple locally made products to bring home.

It was a warm sunny day and I took one last stroll along the lake.
What could make this nice day even better? A Maple Creemee of course! I couldn’t leave Vermont without having one, so I made sure to swing by Burlington Bay Market & Cafe.

For those not familiar with Vermonter lingo, creemee is soft serve ice cream. The refreshingly sweet and creamy treat is made with pure Vermont maple syrup. Yum!

I had an amazing time in Burlington. I really enjoyed the delicious seasonal food, cool breweries, hanging out with some laid-back locals, a nice winery, tasty hard cider, and a gorgeous sunset sail. Thank you, Vermont!
