Off to Macau!

After a solid breakfast of eggs and milk pudding, I headed towards the pier to catch the ferry to Macau. I bought a ticket for the TurboJet high speed ferry online a couple days beforehand.

Ready for Macau

The pier was pretty confusing to find. I was literally running around for a bit since it was almost departure time. I finally asked somebody in a store where to go and they pointed me towards a building with “China Ferry Terminal” above the glass doors where you take an elevator down to 1F. I totally missed it.

The TurboJet ferry runs up to 15 times per day. I bought a ticket in economy. Seats are assigned. The seats were pretty comfortable.

It took around one hour to get to Macau. I met up with a coworker’s childhood friend, Fanny. She was nice enough to pick me up and show me around. How cool! Our first stop was the MGM.

The five-star hotel was super nice and stylish.

One of the main features of the hotel was the European-inspired Grande Praça, housed under a beautiful glass ceiling.

In the middle of the Grande Praça was a tall cylindrical aquarium standing over 26 feet tall. There’s a wide array of exotic fish to marvel at.

You’ll also find incredible art throughout the property like the Dalinian Dancer by Salvador Dali in the lobby.

The hotel also has seven signature restaurants and bars. Fanny made a reservation at a dim sum restaurant. Sounds good to me!
