The Los Angeles Highlights Tour

It was my final day in Los Angeles and I spent most of my time eating, drinking, and watching hockey. I still wanted to see more of LA and what better way to see such a vast city than a tour! There were a ton of them, but I decided to book The Los Angeles Highlights Tour with Another Side of Los Angeles to see some major sights and neighborhoods. They were nice enough to accommodate me since I was the only one for the first half of the tour.

Our first stop was the quirky cool buzzing beach town of Venice. We walked around and I loved the colorful art, funky shops, skateboarders, famous Muscle Beach, and Venice Canals.

The next stop was the Santa Monica Pier with its seaside amusement park, sandy beaches, and lovely views of the Pacific.

After the beaches, it was time for a lunch break. My guide dropped me off at the Original Farmer’s Market with various food stalls, vendors, and sit-down eateries.

I decided to try the Classic Crispy Chicken Sandwich from Fritzi Coop. The sandwich features triple-battered buttermilk chicken with housemade pimento cheese, lettuce tomato, and pickles. It’s served with a side of curly fries. I also had a refreshing Watermelon Agua Fresca.

After my meal, I walked around The Grove outdoor shopping and entertainment complex for a bit.

My guide came back to pick me up and a nice couple joined the tour for the second half. It was time to check out a lookout point with a great view of LA before heading to Hollywood for a view of the famous Hollywood sign, The Dolby Theatre – home of the Oscars, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, and The Hollywood Walk of Fame.

We also drove around Beverly Hills and passed by famous hotels like the Beverly Hilton, the Beverly Wilshire (Pretty Woman hotel) and the Beverly Hills Hotel. Then we drove down Sunset Blvd. and the famous Sunset Strip past the Chateau Marmont, The Viper Room, The Whiskey a-go-go, and more celebrity homes. We concluded the tour with a cruise down the lavish Rodeo Drive.

It was a jam-packed day and we managed to see a lot of Los Angeles all in one day during the 7-hour experience. The guide was nice and the drive was comfortable. The Los Angeles Highlights Tour gave me a great overview of LA. We ended up back at the office and I got a ride back to the apartment to relax for a bit. I was looking forward to an Italian dinner later that night.
