Schnitzelei Mitte and Suicide Circus

It was my final night in Berlin! I spent most of the afternoon at a museum and walking around the city. Later that night I went back out for dinner. I was in the mood for schnitzel, so I decided to go to Schnitzelei in Mitte. I saw the sign pointing towards a back area where the restaurant is located.

Mitte

The restaurant was full, but there were a few seats open at the bar. Perfect. I sat down and ordered a beer, the Citrilla IPA by Maisel & Friends. It was a combination of an American IPA and a Bavarian Weissbier. Prost!

I briefly looked over the menu, but already knew what I came for. They offer a variety of schnitzel, but I went with the classic wiener schnitzel made with veal. It’s coated with their homemade breadcrumbs.

Wiener Schnitzel

The coating was crispier and a bit thicker than the one I had my first day in Berlin. It was still good and the veal was tender. It was served with a cucumber salad and fried potatoes.

Dinner at Schnitzelei was satisfying and I was happy to have one last schnitzel fix.

Berlin, Germany

I stopped by the hotel for a bit and decided I had to check out a techno club before leaving Berlin. No time for bed! I went to Suicide Circus in Friedrichshain. When I arrived, the entrance area was dark and seemed pretty shady. There were people selling party pills if you’re into that sort of thing, but I pushed forward, paid the cover, and went inside.

It was around 11pm and the place was still empty. I met a nice couple from Boston and we all ended up hanging out together. Once the place starting getting full after 1am, we were dancing and I was really liking the local DJs. I couldn’t be up pass 6am again, so I tried leaving at a decent hour even though I easily could have stayed much longer. I had to catch a flight to Prague the next day. Berlin, those were some crazy good times!
