Bistro Pho Viet Nam

I’m still catching up on that Euro Trip from October. I’m gonna be doing more brief recaps so I can start posting pics from more recent trips. I’m getting there, I promise!

This is a Vietnamese breakfast I enjoyed one morning in Prague before embarking on a food tour later that afternoon. Bistro Pho Viet Nam is a small casual restaurant tucked away inside a mini food mart.

The Czech Republic has one of the largest Vietnamese populations outside of Vietnam and the majority of them live in the capital city of Prague. That means you’ll find some solid Vietnamese food.

I had to try their pho – a Vietnamese noodle soup made with broth, rice noodles, herbs, and beef or chicken. I also had to have some Vietnamese iced coffee.

The beef noodle soup (phở bò) was not the best, but still good. The noodles were a thicker variety, not the traditional thinner rice noodles you find in an authentic version. The broth was fairly light and didn’t have a deep beef flavor.

One thing’s for sure, pho can be pretty filling. The prices were reasonable too. After my pho breakfast, I walked around the city for a bit. I stopped at a candy store that had barrels of various gummy candies. So tempting!

After a while, it was time to head to the meeting point for the food tour!
