Bröd & Salt, The Royal Palace, Djurgården, and Mogge Sushi

My second and final day in Stockholm began with breakfast at Bröd & Salt. The popular local artisan bakery chain offers handmade breads and delicious cinnamon buns.

I enjoyed a regular cinnamon bun and green tea at a small table outside the bakery.

After breakfast, I walked to The Royal Palace. It’s the official residence and major royal palace of the Swedish monarch. With over 600 rooms, it’s considered one of the most impressive palaces in the world.

After The Royal Palace I went to Djurgården, an island in central Stockholm. This is where you’ll find many of the city’s most famous museums and cultural attractions.

My first stop was the Vasa Museum. The maritime museum displays the only almost fully intact 17th century warship that has ever been salvaged, the Vasa, which sank in 1628. Very cool.

Afterwards I headed to another museum to check out one of Sweden’s most famous exports – ABBA! The ABBA Museum is an interactive exhibition that takes you on journey through the pop band’s tremendous career.

After seeing a few of Stockholm’s top attractions, I went to Mogge Sushi for lunch. A few minutes passed by before someone noticed me and I could place my order. I sat at one of the few stools at the small counter and ordered the nigiri platter. It was good and I appreciated the generous portion of salmon pieces.

I was glad I got to see what I wanted to see during my brief time in Stockholm. After my sushi fix, I walked back to the hotel to relax for a bit before a private sauna session and dinner.
