Wood, a Game of Thrones Pop Up Bar, and Tiki Drinks

Ah my final night in Chicago has arrived after 5 jam-packed days in one of my favorite cities. The snow picked up a bit, but that wasn’t stopping anybody from wandering the streets.

I was still pretty full from brunch, so I decided to stop by Wood for a couple drinks and a small bite of something.

For cocktails, I had the Snuff Out the Bully made with tequila, mezcal, mango puree, chili pepper syrup, and fresh lime juice. After that, it was the Double Standards made with gin, earl grey & cinnamon syrup, fresh lemon juice, chareau, and egg white.

I spotted the steak tartare on the menu, so I couldn’t pass it up. It had remoulade sauce, cornichons, capers, and an egg yolk and served with house-cut potato chips.

It was the right amount of food and just what I needed to get my night started. The (cute) bartender was nice and attentive. After my brief dinner, I stopped by D.S. Tequila Company located on the same block for a couple margaritas.

Then it was time to head to Replay in Lincoln Park for a Game of Thrones pop up. The arcade bar holds special themed nights from time to time.

It was a perfect Winter night for some GoT fun. They actually ran out of souvenir cups, but were nice enough to mail me one when they received more.

I eventually decided to end the night at one of my favorite bars, Three Dots and a Dash. There’s usually a good crowd and the bartenders are great.

The tiki drinks are delicious and strong! The Strip And Go Naked is made with London dry gin, passion fruit, tangerine, lemon, and pale ale.

I met some really cool people and the popular tiki bar has become a must-go if I’m in Chicago. Cheers!

What a night! It was Monday before I knew it and time to drag myself to O’Hare International Airport.

What an awesome foodie hockey trip! Thank you, St. Louis and Chicago! I’ll be back sometime!
