Where should we go for lunch? There were all the usual places, but we decided to go to a restaurant that we haven’t been to in a long time. It was time for a Lebanese lunch at Rose’s Place. This restaurant serves tasty homestyle Lebanese cuisine. They offer lunch specials during the week and it’s BYOB.
We started off with a plate consisting of pickles, olives, and pickled turnips. A nice snack before the appetizer.
We were also given a basket of warm pita bread.
The Fried Eggplant is served with a lemon garlic sauce. The eggplant was soft and made for a tasty combination with the flavorful sauce. We used the pita to soak up the yummy sauce left on the plate.
The fresh squeezed lemonade was not too sweet and very refreshing.
The grilled fillet of salmon was a hit.
The Mixed Grilled Combination consists of a nice sample of a few of the most popular meat items. The Kufta Kebab is charcoal broiled ground lamb, the Shish Tawook are broiled chicken cubes, and the Shish Kebab are charbroiled beef cubes. The meats were tender and flavorful. All platters are served with red onions, a roasted tomato, and rice with vermicelli. The garlic sauce on the side was delicious.
It was nice to come back to Rose’s. I haven’t been since it first opened. The food is great and portions are decent. I’ll be sure to keep this place in mind for a weekday lunch.
