We resisted the urge to return to Leo & Mas yet again. We looked for a different place to try this time. The only problem was there aren’t that many quality restaurants in Patong Beach…but there are a few. Located a few blocks from our hotel was Rustic Eatery & Bar, a restaurant serving international comfort food and dishes.

The place was dimly lit with a nice and relaxing ambiance. We were seated at a table towards the back of the restaurant. I was excited to try a local IPA. It was very good and I loved the label. How could I not try it?

The smoothies were great. My sister had a delicious mango one, while I tried the strawberry and Thai basil smoothie.

I ordered the southern fried chicken with nutmeg infused mashed potatoes and gravy. Sounds comforting to me! The potatoes were very creamy. The fried chicken was nice and crispy. I did not get much of the Cajun flavor though.

The pizza cravings were strong with my sister while we were down south. She tried one of their pizzas, but without cheese of course. She enjoyed it, but did not think it was as good as the one at Leo & Mas. The crust was crispy and a bit thinner.

There was hardly any room for dessert, but I couldn’t resist a plate of freshly fried churros with chocolate and mango sauces. I wasn’t expecting to see churros anywhere else, so why not!

Overall, we enjoyed our dinner at Rustic Eatery & Bar. The service was good and there was always somebody checking on us. It was nice to see some craft beer and a selection of comfort food and dishes from all over the world.
