After an extra late night of cocktails and talking to strangers, I slept in until I could function enough to go out for lunch. I wanted something comforting and possibly fried. It was the perfect opportunity to check out Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips located in The LINQ Promenade.
Some crispy fried foods sounded good and fish and chips is a classic dish I don’t have very often. I’ve never been to any of Chef Ramsay’s restaurants, but this quick service eatery is suppose to serve up authentic British fish and chips so I had to try it.
I walked up to the counter and looked over the chalkboard menu. In addition to the fish and simply salted chips, there’s also sausage, shrimp, a fishwich, dirty chips, an assortment of sauces, sticky toffee pudding, Biscoff shakes, beer, and lemonade. I was still fairly full of alcohol at the time, so I skipped the beer and went with the Peach & Ginger Lemonade.
I ordered the classic Fish & Chips. It’s made with Alaskan cod and a batter that took three months to develop, then deep fresh to order. The crispy golden brown exterior was delightful and the fish was moist and flaky. The chips were good and you’ll find plenty of malt vinegar packets to enjoy with them.
I also wanted to try the Chicken strips which were also battered and fried, but seemed to have different seasonings. They were good too, but I preferred the fish. That’s what they’re known for after all. I liked all the sauces I tried – Gordon’s Tarter Sauce, Curry & Mango, European-Style Mayonnaise, and Sriracha Aioli.
I really enjoyed my lunch at Gordon Ramsay’s Fish and Chips. It was all made to order and served hot and crispy. Good stuff! Time to wander the strip for a bit.
