It was game day! I still had a few hours before meeting up with my good friend from San Antonio for the Devils-Golden Knights game. I felt like it was the perfect opportunity to visit the the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign. I’ve been to Vegas several times, but never went to the famous landmark until now. I had to represent the New Jersey Devils of course! 😉
After a short wait to take a few pictures, I had an Uber pick me up and headed off for lunch. He turned out to be the coolest driver ever and actually joined me for a chicken lunch at Flock & Fowl downtown on Las Vegas Blvd. We were seated right away and I ordered the No Tajin in the Machine made with Milagro Blanco Tequila, Vecchio Amaro Del Capo, Aperol, ginger, celery bitters, and lime. Cheers!
The casual restaurant offers a menu with a focus on free-range chicken. We started off with the Chicken Wings. They were even voted “Las Vegas’ Best Chicken Wings 2018”. We went with the Honey Butter and Salt & Pepper. Both were good, but the honey butter was delicious.
For our mains, we both ordered the Classic Flock & Fowl Hainan Chicken. I went with the traditional preparation and added a fried egg and Chinese sausage. The chicken was tender and the egg was perfect. It was a solid comforting meal that reminded me of a Filipino breakfast of meat, eggs, and garlic rice.
Afterwards, my awesome driver hung out for a while (off the clock of course) and brought me to a local bar before heading back to the Strip.
There were a couple more hours before the game. It was time to head back, park, find my friend, and pregame near T-Mobile arena for a bit! I was super excited!
