I can’t forget to share pics from my wonderful birthday dinner I had at the Saddle River Inn in Saddle River, New Jersey back in October. It was my first time dining at the upscale French-inspired restaurant that I’ve heard so much about for years.
The BYOB restaurant is set in a 19th century restored barn. As soon as I was shown to my table, I took in the warm, rustic ambiance. It’s a romantic setting for sure, but no shame in the solo dining game!
Chef Jamie Knott is doing everything right. He uses sustainable seafood, Prime dry-aged beef, and local organic produce whenever possible. I decided to go with the 5-course tasting menu. The menu changes twice seasonally.
I enjoyed every dish I had. It wasn’t just about nicely presented plates, the flavors were delicious. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. The scallops and venison were tender.
The tasting menu ended with a yummy Nutella cheesecake and chocolate chip cookie.
Dinner at Saddle River Inn was lovely. I’m happy I finally had the chance to dine in the elegantly restored barn. Service was excellent as well. Thank you, Chef Knott!
