My first night in Memphis turned out to be one incredible night! Apparently, every Wednesday is Bike Night on Beale. So what does that mean? Well, if you’re walking along Beale Street on a Wednesday between 6pm to 10pm, there are thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts that hang out and park their bikes on the iconic street. It’s quite a sight!
I had no idea about this weekly event and was excited to arrive on a Wednesday! Everybody was just hanging out and having a good time. You’ll see all different kinds of bikes – every brand, shape, and size. Some of them are really done up and their owners love sharing and showing off their hard work.
The various bikes and vehicles were really impressive. You see some amazing stuff! The bright lights, loud music, and revving of the motorcycles surrounded you.
With a drink in hand, I walked all along Beale. Yep, feel free to enjoy that cold alcoholic drink outside on the streets of Beale! The legendary street has the distinction of being exempt from the rest of Tennessee’s ban on open containers.
I met some really friendly and cool people. I couldn’t have asked for a better welcoming to Memphis! If you happen to be there on a Wednesday, Bike Nights on Beale is something you do not want to miss! Good times!
Cold and refreshing whiskey slushies with some great company – awesome!
