It was Friday morning in Hong Kong and I had quite a bit planned for the day. I was going to Lantau Island to check out a fishing village, a monastery, and say hello to Big Buddha. Before I did all that, I stopped by Cafe Kool in the Kowloon Shangri-La for an all-you-can-eat breakfast.
I walked into the lovely lobby of the luxurious 5-star hotel and made my way upstairs to the cafe.
I was seated at a small table near one of the large windows – time to eat! I took a quick stroll around to see what the six stations had to offer.
The international buffet offers Western, Chinese, and Indian dishes. Each station features an open kitchen where you can watch all the food being prepared for every dish.
There was a nice selection and I tried something from every station. You can also stop by the freshly squeezed juice bar to have a custom drink made.
They had a small station with Indian and Middle Eastern dishes. You can even enjoy a freshly made dosai, a Southern Indian pancake.
The food was tasty and seemed to be replaced in a timely manner, so no waiting around for anything. My finished plates were quickly cleared as well.
The breakfast buffet at Cafe Kool was really good. No complaints. It seemed like a good value for what you were offered. There were so many different kinds of food.
I was stuffed and it was time to go to Lantau Island!
