After an eerie cemetery tour and tasty wings and cocktails the previous night, I was ready for my third day in Savannah. I began with brunch at The Collins Quarter, a bright casual cafe styled after Melbourne’s historic Collins Street that offers innovative dishes and specialty coffee.
The place was busy and there was a decent line outside for their takeout window. I was able to get a seat at the espresso bar overlooking all the coffee action.
I’m not a coffee drinker. I actually stopped drinking it years ago, but once in a while I will make an exception especially if I see Vietnamese Iced Coffee on the menu!
Made with Vietnamese-grown dark roasted coffee and condensed milk that’s poured over ice, it’s so delicious and refreshing.
Brunch is served most days of the week from 8am to 3pm. There are a few brunch items that are only offered before 11am though. And trust me, you want to get there before 11am for the amazing # Tag This Hash!
The wonderful creation had braised pot roast, potato hash cakes, smashed avocado, a fried egg, and chimichurri sauce served with the sauteed vegetable of the day. It was absolutely incredible. It was easily one of the best dishes I’ve ever had!
I devoured the delicious hash and finished the yummy Vietnamese coffee. Good stuff! The food, the service the ambiance…everything was great. I highly recommend brunch at The Collins Quarter.
After my super fulfilling meal, I walked to the historic Owens-Thomas House for a tour. The 45-minute guided tour runs every 20 minutes and costs $20 for adults. The majestic home was completed in 1819 and is one of the few houses in Savannah designed by William Jay, one of the first practicing architects in America.
The tour is well worth taking. You get a chance to step back in time and see the unqiue architecture, magnificent stairway, elegant furnishings and cool antiques dating back to the 1700s.
I was really enjoying the charming historic sites of Savannah. I was just getting started and decided to hop on a trolley tour to see more!
