After an incredible brunch and visiting one of the most historic homes in Savannah, it was time to see more of the lovely charming Southern city. I walked to the starting point of the Old Savannah Trolley for a Historic Overview Tour. The trolley departs daily starting at 9am and runs every 15-20 minutes thereafter until 4:30-5pm. It costs around $25 for adults and lasts about 100 minutes.
The white trolley is a great way to see the city and learn about its history. You’ll see beautiful squares, moss-draped oaks, gorgeous homes, historic sites, the expansive riverfront, and over 270 years of history – all from the comfort of your trolley seat.
There are a couple trolley companies in town, but the white trolley Old Savannah tours are created by Savannahians and have been voted the best tour every year since 2003. They also bring Savannah’s history to life with actual historical reenactors that appear from time to time. So definitely check it out the first day or two you’re in town.
