I only had time for dinner and a couple drinks for my first night in Cleveland, but now I had the whole day ahead of me and I started it off with breakfast at Lucky’s Cafe. The casual eatery serves both creative and classic dishes using local and seasonal ingredients.
I only waited a few minutes before being seated at a small table near the entrance. It wasn’t terribly busy, but it took a while to get a menu and have my order taken. I’m always happy to see Thai Iced Tea on a menu, but this one was watered down with too much milk. Oh well. I was really here for a popular breakfast dish anyway.
So what did I order? The Biscuits & Gravy of course! The classic combination may be their most popular dish.
The cheddar scallion biscuits were topped with soft scrambled eggs and sausage gravy with hash brown potatoes and grapes on the side. It was hearty and delightful. I also ordered the wonderful Pecan Bacon. Good stuff!
I enjoyed my breakfast at Lucky’s Cafe. Service was a bit spotty and slow, but the food was good.
Besides Lucky’s Biscuits & Gravy, another must in Cleveland is the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Located downtown near the shore of Lake Erie, it is the world’s only Hall of Fame devoted to the popular music genre and its development.
It was a nice sunny day and I managed to check out a couple great places, but I was extra excited for my next stop!
