The Portland Museum of Art and Bearded Lady’s Jewel Box

After a marvelous seafood lunch, I walked around Portland’s Old Port District and stopped by a couple cool shops along Fore Street like the Portland Beer Hub and Coast City Comics.

I also wanted to check out the Portland Museum of Art where you can see American, European, and contemporary art, as well as iconic works from Maine. The PMA is the largest and oldest public art institution in the state of Maine.

Afterwards, I tried a couple cocktails at the Bearded Lady’s Jewel Box on Congress Street. It’s easy to miss since there’s no sign. The dark bar had interesting decor and drinks listed on a gold framed menu.

After cocktails and wandering Portland for a bit, I went back to the hotel to get ready for a Mediterranean-inspired tasting menu for dinner that night.
