It was my third day in Berlin. The previous night was spent at a fine dining Michelin-starred restaurant and this afternoon called for something much more casual for lunch. I stopped by Momotaro Tavern, a casual burger spot serving homemade burgers, fresh fries, and local beer as well as Asian specialties, located in Alexanderplatz.
I took a seat at one of the small tables, looked over the menu, and started off the day with a local IPA and their thin-cut fries with both ketchup and mayo.
The fries were hot and crispy, and I’m all for dipping them in mayo while in Europe.
The beef burgers sounded good, but I decided to get the Samurai Chicken made with fried chicken katsu, a spicy sweet and sour peanut sauce, and mixed salad.
I ordered another beer, a pale ale brewed by Störtebeker Braumanufaktur in Stralsund, Germany, before asking for the check and paying at the counter.
A couple beers, hot fries, and a tasty chicken cutlet sandwich made for a fantastic lunch. Nothing but good food and friendly service at Momotaro Tavern.
After lunch, I made my way to the local arena to check out a professional handball game. What a great time that turned out to be!
