How’s it going? I just came back from a wonderful trip out in the Pacific Northwest! My sister and I try to plan a trip once a year. The past couple years I traveled out to Asia to meet her in Thailand and Japan, but this year we kept it a bit more “local” and went to Vancouver, British Columbia, Seattle, and Portland, Oregon!
My sister initially wanted to meet up in Seattle for her Spring Break, but the New Jersey Devils just happen to be playing in Vancouver the same week. How convenient! So it was off to Canada for our first stop. I really enjoyed the incredible Japanese cuisine, cool bars, Granville Island, Stanley Park, the Vancouver Lookout, exploring the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, fabulous oysters and geoduck, a great omakase with the famous Chef Tojo himself, amazing fish & chips near Fisherman’s Wharf, an exciting Devils shootout victory at Rogers Arena, a damn good lemon bar, and the super interesting Museum of Anthropology.

Our next stop was Seattle! We stayed at a really nice apartment near the waterfront, piers, and Pike Place Market. Enjoyed fantastic eats, an amazing intimate omakase, foodie fun at Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, an excellent raw bar, awesome seafood, unique bars, and a lovely ferry ride to Bainbridge Island. The weather was sunny and clear too!

We took the train down to Portland, Oregon for our final stop! We stayed in the heart of downtown. My sister really enjoyed the tasty vegan options. I loved the great breweries, a few must-try dishes, a hidden Thai dinner, an incredibly delicious vegan tasting menu, the art museum, Voodoo doughnuts, Blue Star donuts, rare books in the largest independent bookstore in the world, a random tiny oyster spot, a wonderful Italian dinner, and a nice morning checking out some waterfalls, Bonneville Hatchery, and Crown Point.

Another fantastic trip completed! Such great cities with delicious eats and cool attractions. We’re already planning to meet up at a new destination next year! The Pacific Northwest was beautiful and I was in oyster, sushi, and seafood heaven! More pics from this trip will eventually be posted.
