It was time to meet up with my sister for our annual sisters trip! Since she decided to go back to school, we planned to go somewhere in March for her Spring Break. Our past couple trips included Thailand and Japan, but this time we stayed a bit “closer” and went to the Pacific Northwest. She wanted to meet me in Seattle, but the New Jersey Devils just happen to be playing in Vancouver the same week. Nice! First stop, Vancouver!
I caught an afternoon flight out of Newark Airport and arrived in Vancouver around 9pm.
By the time I got through customs and checked in to the downtown hotel, it was almost 11pm. I decided to take it easy and wait until the following morning to eat something.
Good morning, Vancouver!
Just a couple blocks from the hotel is Jam Cafe, a popular all-day breakfast and lunch cafe known for their generous portions and family home style recipes. There were a few people in line when I arrived a little before they open at 8am.
The place is small, warm, and rustic.
I was seated at the bar and ordered a classic mimosa.
What to get? Everything sounded really good. I picked The Charlie Bowl – a hearty bowl of breakfast faves like hash browns, bacon, ham, crumbled biscuits, sausage gravy, and two eggs with cheddar cheese, corn salsa, peas, and green onions.
Not like I needed more food, but I wanted to try their red velvet pancakes as well. They were yummy, but I could only take a few bites after the super filling Charlie Bowl.
Breakfast at Jam Cafe was a hit. Service was good and the food was delicious. I had a Vancouver City Tour with Landsea Tours & Adventures in a bit, so I walked back to the hotel where I would be picked up.
