Ultra Day 3 & Space

Another sleepless night. I think I was getting use to the couple hours of sleep each night since I arrived in Miami. It would all hit me eventually. Until then, it was time for day 3 of Ultra! Another stop for that Peruvian-style chicken and I entered the festival and made my way to the Mega Structure Stage for A State of Trance (ASOT) 550.

Sunday’s lineup for ASOT 550 was ridiculous and included Tritonal, Sander van Doorn, Dash Berlin, Ferry Corsten, Dash Berlin, and Gareth Emery to name a few.

All the way across the park, the Main Stage was getting loud. I made my way towards the bright lights and cheering to see Kaskade.

After Kaskade, I walked around and checked out some of the other stages. It was getting dark and the final night of Ultra was coming to an end. I made my way back to the main stage and caught the end of David Guetta’s set before Armin van Buuren came on to close out the festival.

The bright lights, the fireworks, and everybody going crazy. Ultra was a good time. As much as I enjoyed the festival, it tended to be a younger crowd due to the minimum age requirement of only 16. Yikes! It is now at 18, but I’m more of a fan of the 21+ crowd. I’m glad I experienced Ultra, but it’s safe to say that I would completely satisfied with sticking to the pool parties and clubs next time.

I made my way towards the exit and headed back to the hotel. Brian tagged along and it was time to get ready for the final night of Miami Music Week!…and maybe a power nap!

Ultra Finale

The final event took place at Space. The famous club opened in 2000 with a then-unheard of 24-hour operating permit and  became the standard venue for all-night partygoers. It acquired original residents such as the legendary Oscar G and Edward V. A sudden influx of guest DJs such as Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, and Danny Tenaglia (who played a record 20-hour set in 2000) really raised the bar for the nightlife industry.

Club Space

With the lack of sleep and our adrenaline pumping, we were ready to enjoy WMC’s Space Nation with Markus Schulz featuring back-to-back sets with Ferry Corsten, Rank 1, Seid van Riel, and other special guests.

We all reunited at Space and had an awesome time. I only made it to about 4am that night. I was overdue for some sleep. I heard the place was shut down around 6am.

Great Times!

I was exhausted. The sun was coming up. The best thing about a luxury hotel is the 24-hour room service. I was so hungry and thought it would be a good idea to order some food before going to sleep. Yea, that didn’t happen and I passed out before taking a single bite. I woke up to a fabulous looking breakfast of steak and eggs though! Sweet!
