Sun Studio: The Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll

After visiting Graceland, I took the shuttle bus to the legendary Sun Studio. Known worldwide as “The Birthplace of Rock ’n’ Roll”, the recording studio is the discovery location of musical legends like B.B. King, Ike Turner, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and “The King”. It’s where the “Million Dollar Quartet” jam session involving Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash took place.

From Blues and Gospel to Country and Rock ’n’ roll, it produced the music that put Memphis on the map.

The studio is open for 45-minute guided tours every day from 10am to 6pm.

The Sun Studio shuttle bus is free and runs between Sun Studio, The Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum, and Graceland from 10am-6:30pm. Check out the schedule for pick up and drop off times.
