After the Fukuoka Sumo Tournament, I made a minor change to my plans and headed to Hiroshima a day earlier since it was on the way back to Osaka.
Hiroshima’s electric railway system makes it easy to get around. From Hiroshima station, I was a few stops away from the hotel.
It was around 10pm and before I checked in I stopped by Bistro Paris Shokudo for dinner. The restaurant serves up French and European fare and it was right by the hotel.
I’ve been enjoying all the Japanese cuisine during my trip, but thought it would be nice to switch things up a bit.
I ordered a glass of red wine. Cheers!
I tried the Potato Frites with Cod Roe Mayonnaise (mentaiko). It may sound weird, but it was actually pretty good. The creamy and salty mayo went perfectly with the hot crisp potato wedges.
I was thoroughly enjoying my wine and thought some pasta would be great with it. The Stone Grilled Salmon Cream Pasta came out bubbling hot.
Underneath the bed of spinach was pasta with salmon and mushrooms in a tasty cream sauce. It was really good and not too heavy.
It was a long day and I was ready to call it a night. I walked another block to Hotel Sunroute Hiroshima, checked in, and went to bed. I wanted to see the Hiroshima Museum and Memorial Park the following morning.
