Brunch at Bonefish Grill

I’m all about brunch during my travels, but haven’t really done much brunchin’ while staying home in New Jersey. I’m not familiar with too many local places offering a brunch menu, so I was excited to find out that Bonefish Grill in Paramus features one on Saturdays and Sundays!

It’s been several years since I’ve dined at the seafood restaurant chain and I was looking forward to checking it out all over again. We were greeted with warm welcomes and were seated in a nice large booth. Our waitress, Jennifer, was fabulous and went over the menu and specials with us. We got started with some bread and olive oil and a couple brunch cocktails – a Peach Bellini and the super refreshing Cucumber Spa Spritz made with Ketel One Botanical Cucumber Mint Vodka, St. Germain, housemade sour mix, fresh cucumbers, soda, and mint. Cheers!

Everything on the menu sounded good. We ordered a few appetizers – their popular Bang Bang Shrimp made with their signature creamy spicy sauce. My parents loved them! We also had the Greens, Egg & Ham which had crispy Brussels sprouts, ham, and a sunny-side up egg. Another winner!

We also decided to try the Seasonal Avocado Toast and I’m glad we did. Slices of French baguette are topped with fresh crushed avocado, crumbled feta cheese, roasted tomato, and a drizzle of olive oil. A tasty reminder that I’m not sick of the food trend just yet.

On to the main event! Mom enjoyed the Seafood Johnny Cakes & Eggs which consisted of seven savory cornmeal pancakes blended with shrimp and bay scallops topped with a couple poached eggs and creole sauce.

Dad ordered the BFG Tuna Steak & Eggs featuring ahi tuna cooked to your liking with chimichurri sauce, two sunny-side up eggs, and a side of your choice. He went with spinach and thoroughly enjoyed the dish.

I had my eye on the Filet Mignon & Lobster Eggs Benedict because how good does that sound?! One toasted English muffin is topped with tender filet mignon and the other is topped with sweet lobster. Both are topped with a poached egg and covered with a delicious hollandaise sauce. I savored it with a side of perfect crispy bacon.

Brunch at Bonefish Grill was delightful and it was nice to return after all these years to see a revamped menu with unique brunch creations. Service was incredible, thanks to Jennifer consistently checking in on us and being so enthusiastic. I look forward to going back to try their other dishes and libations!
