It was time to leave Prague and head to Sweden! I had one last lovely breakfast at my wonderful apartment complex before going to the airport – Off to Gothenburg!
I arrived in Gothenburg late afternoon and checked in to Hotel Bellora. The stylish boutique hotel is located on the bustling main street of Avenyn near a number of bars and restaurants. In addition to a great location it has an Italian restaurant, rooftop bar, and offers complimentary breakfast.Â
I decided to have a quick bite at the on-site restaurant, Ristorante Bellora. The Margherita pizza turned out to be really good!
Later that evening, I had a reservation at SK Mat & Människor. It would be my second Michelin-starred meal during my trip. They turn out modern dishes using seasonal ingredients and their Swedish heritage.
There’s an open kitchen next to the 42-seat dining room and the food is sometimes served by the chefs themselves. I opted for the 6-course tasting menu with standard wine pairing. With the 6 courses costing 775 SEK (around $85) and 595 SEK for the wine (around $65), it’s a pretty reasonable Michelin meal.
The presentation of the food was very appealing and the tastes were delightful. I liked the wines as well. Service was excellent. I enjoyed my dining experience at SK Mat & Människor. I don’t get to try modern Swedish cuisine very often.
As I was walking back to the hotel, I could faintly hear music playing, so I stopped at that bar for a cocktail before going to bed. Drinks and DJs!
It was time to get some shut eye. I wanted to check out a popular small seafood joint located inside a fish market the next day.
