Leaving Toronto: Maha’s Egyptian Brunch

It was quite the long weekend in Toronto! I checked another NHL arena off the list, attended the Legends Classic and hung out with an inductee, and had a fabulous time at the Celebration Gala and met lots of cool people. Before heading to the airport, I had plenty of time for breakfast. I went to Maha’s for an Egyptian brunch.

When I arrived, there was a small line outside and a bit of a wait. It’s first come, first served. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait too long for the small single table near the door to become available.

The place is small, but nice and homey. To drink, I had the Egyptian Black Tea + Mint.

Looking over the menu, everything sounded delicious. As much as I wanted to try a couple different things, the portions are quite big so I went with Maha’s Mind Blowing Chicken. It’s described as chicken using Maha’s sacred marinate, tossed with parsley, onions and tomatoes, served on a toasted egg bun with tomeya (Lebanese garlic sauce), homemade mayo, and tehina (paste made from ground sesame seeds).

The thing was huge! I guess it’s suppose to be a sandwich with the egg bun, but the flavorful chicken was overflowing and covers the entire plate. It was super tasty.

Brunch at Maha’s was delicious. The brunch fare is served all day. It was something different with unique flavors and unfamiliar ingredients. Service was good and the staff was friendly. Be prepared for a wait since it’s a small place and the food is fantastic.

I still had quite some time before my evening flight, but I was able to change to an earlier flight. I walked around downtown Toronto for a bit before catching the Union Pearson Express rail to the airport. I just love this city!

I eventually got a ticket and boarded the UP Express for the 25-minute ride from Union Station to Toronto Pearson International Airport. The one-way ticket costs $12.35.

It was such an amazing few days in one of my favorite cities. I knew it would be a great experience, but I didn’t anticipate meeting so many great people and having the opportunity to meet and hang out with the Hockey Hall of Fame inductees! Until next time, Toronto. Thank you!
